For those in or around the Indianapolis area, I definitely invite you to come by the VMUG User Conference being held on Thursday, July 25th. Even though I live up in the suburbs of Chicago, I’ve been a regular attendee since Demo Days 4 a few years back and have not been disappointed as an attendee. There’s always a great selection of insightful speakers, vendor exibitions, and top notch giveaways to acquire.
This year I’m also going to be taking part in a morning session with Bluelock’s Pat O’Day, CTO, and Jake Robinson, Solutions Architect, to discuss disaster scenarios such as the Zombie Apocalypse. In order to be a valid source of information on their service, Bluelock asked if I would experience first hand exactly what a customer would go through – from initial design, invoicing, and using their public cloud service – with the RaaS (Recovery as a Service) offering. I’ll make sure to discuss my experience with the audience, including how I am protecting my two-tier production application housed in my Chicago data center to the SuperNAP facility in Las Vegas.
Also, I can verify that the session will be both fun and informative with much of the time spent on demonstrations and answering questions, not marketing. As a bonus, those who attend the session can receive the most awesome “zExpert” certification to boldly announce to the world that they, too, are ready to avoid the zombie apocalypse! I hear there are buttons involved. Everyone loves buttons, right?
Be Social and Say Hello!
I also plan to bring along the Wahl Network Mobile Studio so that I can capture some interviews with VMUGers, vendors, and speakers! These will be posted to the YouTube channel for your viewing pleasure as soon as my team can crank them out. Need a Wahl Network button? I’ll have plenty on hand to give out – make sure to say hello!
