Glad I came across this post. I had read your previous posts about staying away from LACP and LAG band-aids, but was looking for whether anything had changed from 5.5. to now. I am working with a customer right now that had a VMware admin trying to migrate from a Standard switch to VDS (in the production, implemented only on 3 of 8 hosts) and causing a ton of issues.

I’ve currently set up a new cluster with a couple hosts, and a distributed switch, but skipped the LAGs. As this administrator is very much of the mind “VMware has it in there so I should use it” I appreciate your articles explaining in detail why it is a band-aid we don’t need.
