Upcoming Webinar on Policy Based Architecture with VSAN and Rubrik

Howdy everyone! It’s been a busy six weeks of travel across the globe for VMworld, VMUGs, and the Rubrik Roadshow. I’ve really enjoyed getting to see so many groovy places – such as my first time in Tokyo and Paris – and meeting such snazzy folks who wanted to chat about technology, soft skills, and their plans for future data center design. I’m rather blown away at how many listeners of the Datanauts podcast came by to thank Ethan and I for babbling on with super smart folks about busting down tech silos and tickling apart new ideas.

Akihabara in Tokyo is a really weird (but interesting) place to visit.

Speaking of tech silos – one of my favorite topics around next-gen data center design is the use of policy based architecture. While the idea itself is nothing new, there’s many exciting ways that it’s being pieced together to help modernize use cases that we’re all familiar with today. In an upcoming webinar featuring Cormac Hogan and myself, we’re going to deliver our thoughts on how storage and data protection are being changed by leveraging a policy based approach. While we plan to use VMware Virtual SAN (VSAN) and Rubrik Cloud Data Management as our examples (largely based on our whitepaper), there’s certainly a wider trend towards abstraction of what we want done in the data center from how it gets implemented.

If you’re interested in hearing the soothing Irish voice of Mr. Hogan, hit up the registration page! We hope to “see” you there at Tuesday, October 11th at 8AM PT / 11AM ET and look forward to the questions and conversation that springs forth from the content. Cheers!
